What is a Player ID?
Your player ID helps you to keep track of your attendance and performance at Play! Pokémon events, which include Premier Challenges, Midseason Showdowns, Regional and International Championships events. Championship Points (CPs) that you earn in events are tracked through your Player ID.
Note: The Player ID is a 6 or 7 digit number, and is NOT your in-game trainer ID (which is only 5 numbers).
How can I look up my player ID?
If you have a Pokémon Trainer Club account, you may already have a player ID. Look at the top of your “My Play! Pokémon” page when you log in:
I don’t have a player ID. How do I get one?
If you do not have a Player ID, you will need to get one online by creating a Pokémon Trainer Club account. Here are some steps to help you get your player ID online (according to the tournament organizers at Second City Gym)
Step 1: Go to the pokemon.com website, and look for the login bar at the left side of your screen (as seen in the image).
Step 2: Do you already have a Pokémon Trainer Club account on the website?
- YES: If you do, skip this step and proceed to step 3.
- NO: If you do not have an account, click “Join” and follow the instructions given to create an account.
- Note: If you are below the age of 13, you will need to have your parent to create an account first before you can join your account to theirs. Ask your parent for assistance. Instructions are on the website.
Step 3: Once you have created your account, log in to your account and select the “Play! Pokémon Settings” link. Enter a screen name you would like to use on the website, then
select “Please assign me a new Player ID number”. Accept the terms and conditions, and submit the form to continue.
Step 4: When you are at the Preferences page, remember to opt into the rankings if you’re competing for Championship Points! You can choose not to show your name on the website.
Step 5: If you have completed the steps correctly, you should now be able to see your player ID and age division when you go to the “My Play! Pokémon Page”.
And you’re all set! Take note of your Player ID and use it when attending VGC tournaments. You can save it on your phone or print it out a card to help you remember.
