Singapore to host Asia’s first Pokemon Video Game National Championships

Asia finally has its first ever Pokémon Video Game National Championships, held right in the heart of Singapore!

The event was officially announced today, and it will take place over the weekend of 27 June 2015 (Sat) and 28 June 2015 (Sun) at ITE Central in Ang Mo Kio as part of the Campus Game Fest event hosted by the Singapore Cybersports and Online Gaming Association (SCOGA). Substantial amounts of Championship Points (CPs) for the worldwide Pokémon Video Game Championships (VGC) series will be awarded in this event.

Location: ITE College Central, 2 Ang Mo Kio Drive, Singapore
Entry Fee: S$8

There will be a discounted entry fee of S$7 for players who pre-register early!

This will be the first untethered Pokemon VG National Championship event. There are no restrictions on the region of the consoles used. However, only players who have TPCi Pokemon Trainer Club Accounts in proper standing are eligible to register for the event.

This will be the second National Championships event to be held in the Asia Pacific Ratings Zone, and like all other National Championships events, the CP payout for the event is as follows:

With up to 600 CPs to be won from a strong finish in the tournament, players who perform well stand a chance to rise to the top of the CP rankings in the Asia Pacific leaderboards, which may earn them invitations and perhaps even a travel award (given to the top 2 in Asia Pacific) to the 2015 Pokémon World Championships in Boston, MA, USA, which will take place on August 21st to 23rd, 2015.
