Malaysia Announces Location for Video Game Regional Championships

This may not be news to some of our readers, but it appears that Malaysia has finally revealed the location of their first Video Game Regional Championships, which will be held at The School at Jaya One, a shopping mall at Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The event, which is scheduled to take place on 31 May 2015 (Sun), falls after the weekend of Singapore’s Video Game Regional Championships on 23 May 2015 (Sat) and will be the second Regional Championships to be held in South-East Asia.

Date: 31 May 2015 (Sun), registration opens 10am
Location: The School @ Jaya One, No. 72A Jalan Universiti, Seksyen 13, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia
Entry Fee: RM20 (est. S$7.42)

Players intending to attend the event are encouraged to pre-register before 28 May 2015 (Thur) and fill up a team detail sheet in hard copy (click to view). There is an entry fee of RM20, and participants reminded that they may be turned down if they do not register on-site before 11.00am.

As with all Regional events, significantly more Championship Points (CPs) are up for grabs as compared to Premier Challenges (refer to CP table below), and players should know that the CPs are cumulative (best of 3 Regionals, best of 5 Premier Challenges). The winner of this Malaysian Regional Championships can look forward to securing 120 CPs and assorted merchandise from Mega Tokyo’s Pokemon Center, which includes a 55 cm Pikazard plush toy.
