Singapore’s First Pokemon Video Game Regionals Announced

The first ever Video Game Regionals in Singapore has been officially announced today, and it will take place on 23 May 2015 (Sat) at the Anchorvale Community Club in Sengkang. Players can look forward to compete for the first place award of 120 Championship Points (CPs) and for the honour of being crowned the first regional champion in South-East Asia, amongst other prizes that have yet to be disclosed by the organisers.

Pre-registration for the event has opened. Participants are also required to complete a team detail sheet (click to view) before completing on-site registration, and there is an entry fee of S$5 per person.

For players who will be attending but not be competing, a StreetPass meetup and free trials of the Oculus Rift will be made available as a side event. The event will also be graced by the Singapore’s Minister of State for Health, Dr. Lam Pin Min.

Finally, as a refresher for tournament participants, the CPs gained from a Regionals event (best 3 finishes) will accumulate with the CPs gained from all the Premier Challenges (best 5 finishes) hosted so far. The CP payout for a Regionals event is as follows:
